Cheltenham is covered by snow as the second day of the festival begins

The second day of the Cheltenham Festival opened with snow this morning as the fighters supported themselves for a cold day.

After an absorbent start day yesterday, there are many points today, including the characteristic match, of the Queen Mother Chase championship at 4pm.

Until then, the snow will have been cleared with temperatures due to a high 9C increase.

The source in the old course remains good to soften.

Golden Ace the Star of the Start Day

The first day is dominated by a dramatic champion barrier that went on the road to Golden Ace after Constitution Hill and State Man fell.

Jeremy Scott’s trained horse came out as a 25-1 outsider, but hung for a long time to be used as the first Hill Constitution and then the State Man descended.

Constitution Hill fell to the fourth last, leaving the state man in a position to maintain the trophy he won last year, only for the rider Paul Towen to incorrectly the latter and hit the lawn when clean.

The British Horse Racing Authority quickly announced both horses, and the Jockeys were good.

Williams Revels with surprise victory

This let Jockey Lorcan Williams get the focus. He told ITV Racing: “I’m lost for words. This is the best day of my life by far. You dream of these moments as a child.

“But it is fantastic. The fair game always appears to (owner) Ian Gosden to get this race and not the barrier of the mare. I don’t complain now.

“I’m just a small part of the team and happy to be on board.”

Jonbon is the favorite to win today’s Queen Mother Chase champion. Nicky Henderson’s charge is available today on 10-11.
