Chelsea he has often been known to make a move or two in the transfer window, especially after being bought out Todd Boehly in May 2022 by Roman Abramovich.
It’s safe to say the American has shown ambition in signing players to try and secure their first team Premier League title since the 2016/17 season under Italian Antonio Conte.
Conte’s compatriot Enzo Maresca he is the latest man tasked with the challenge of ending the drought, with the club’s investment vital to give him the best chance of success at Stamford Bridge.
On the other hand, exits are just as important, balancing the books to avoid any financial breaches while raising funds to reinvest in the playing team.
Given the number of players currently on the Blues payroll, it’s no surprise to see a number of players linked with a move away, including a talent who only recently joined Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea are in talks to leave Stamford Bridge
According to the Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo, the Chelsea star John Felix it is already in talks for a move away from West London, just a few months after moving permanently to the Bridge.
The Portuguese international cost owner Boehly around £46m in the summerwith academy graduate Conor Gallagher moving to Atletico Madrid as a separate deal but being used as a sweetener to allow Felix to move.
However, the transfer did not go as planned for the Blues. starting just three Premier League outings to date, scoring just one goal with most of his minutes coming off the bench.
The report claims the 25-year-old has been in direct talks with former Blues boss Jose Mourinho over a move to join Turkish side Fenerbahce this month, either on a temporary or permanent basis.
The Benfica academy graduate is said to be “uncomfortable” with his current situation under Maresca, according to the report, opening the door to a move should the right offer come through.
If he does move, he could see a repeat of a deal for another star who moved to the club with high expectations before moving on quickly, allowing the hierarchy to cut their losses.
Why Felix could be a repeat of Morata for Chelsea
Striker Alvaro Morata He may have joined from Real Madrid rather than Atletico, but he was another LaLiga talent who moved to Chelsea with real hope of success given the huge price tag.
The 32-year-old cost too much £70m including extras back in the summer of 2017, with real expectations of a transformation of the front line afterwards scoring 20 goals with the Spanish giants the previous season.
However, despite scoring 15 goals in his only full year in England, it soon became apparent that he was not the right fit for the club, lasting just another six months before leaving on loan to join Felix’s former club Atlético.
While they didn’t lose an entire host on their investment, leaving permanently for £58m at the end of his temporary spell under Diego Simeone, it was a move that didn’t pay off – very similar to Felix’s in 2024/25.
Since leaving West London, Morata has moved to Milan in Italy but has signed up double digit number in each campaign since leaving the England outfit – potentially allowing the club to rue his decision given their recent hunt for the number nine.

The Portuguese ace must, who wins £130,000 a weekdeparts this month, it would be a shame to see a player of his quality leave, but it is clear that it is not currently in Maresca’s plans to move on, given his lack of action to date.
the “impressiveThe 25-year-old, as dubbed by journalist Alex Goncalves, has not been given the chance to show his stardom and given the fact that he is about to enter his prime, he desperately needs to play regular football.
Given the form of former talisman Morata following his departure from West London, the club must look at all viable options to prevent a similar situation from happening again.
Felix certainly deserves more time in England to allow Maresca’s side to reap the rewards of his attributes and prevent themselves from prematurely offloading a player who could help propel the top four in the coming months.
