‘Changed the game’ – Ruben Amorim identifies the area where Man United were beaten by Arsenal

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday.

The Gunners were too strong for Ruben Amorim’s side, who suffered their first defeat as Man United manager.

Second-half goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba decided the match and gave Mikel Areta’s side the crucial three points.

Manchester United fought hard in the first half, but Arsenal’s set-piece prowess proved too much in the end.

Amorim believes the set-pieces changed the game and led to the defeat for his team.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported what Amorim said after the Arsenal defeat.

While reporting on his X account, the reporter revealed what the Man United boss had to say.

“Set-ups changed the game. The set-pieces killed the game.”

“Arsenal put a lot of players close to the goalkeeper and it’s almost impossible to fight for the ball.”

“But we have to be able to defend them and we already know we have to be better.”

Arsenal exposed Manchester United’s weakness

There is no doubt that Arsenal’s ability to create set-pieces changed the game and brought two goals for the Gunners, but even without those chances, the Gunners were the stronger side.

Manchester United failed to threaten in the second half and their forwards looked clueless in the final third.

The goals came because Arsenal constantly troubled Man United’s defense and eventually succumbed.

It’s a tactic the Gunners have mastered and teams across the league are struggling to deal with.

Arteta and his coach, Nicolas Jover, deserve credit for creating a new outlet to score.

Football pundit Roy Keane was heavily critical of Marcus Rashford for his performance against the Gunners.
