Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration will feature performances by Carrie Underwood Village People and Lee Greenwood.
Underwood issued a statement Monday saying she is “honored” to be performing as Trump takes the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 20.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said, according to The Associated Press. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and look to the future.”

Underwood, the 2005 “American Idol” winner will sing “America the Beautiful” and will be joined by the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful” after Vice President-elect JD Vance takes his oath of office and before Trump takes the presidential oath.
“I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and look to the future.”
The 1970s disco group Village People was a fixture at Trump’s rallies last year hits like “YMCA” and “Macho Man” plays.

The group will perform at one of Trump’s inaugural balls and a rally he is holding in Washington the day before his inauguration.
Village People shared a statement on Facebook on Monday. “We know some of you won’t like to hear this, but we believe music should be played without regard to politics,” the band said.

“Our song YMCA is a global anthem that will hopefully help bring the country together after a tumultuous and divisive campaign in which our favorite candidate lost,” they continued. “That’s why we believe now is the time to bring the country together through music. That’s why VILLAGE PEOPLE will perform at several events as part of Donald J. Trump’s 2025 inauguration.”

The Associated Press reported that opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform alongside Greenwood during Trump’s inauguration festivities.
