Captain America -actor Anthony Mackie praises the importance of ‘American masculinity’


Actor Anthony Mackie, who plays the latest incarnation of Marvel’s Captain America in “Captain America: Brave New World,” warned that American masculinity is both necessary and exceptional.

Mackie has brought countless headlines in recent months, after he iconic role of Captain America From his popular predecessor, Chris Evans, in Marvel films. On Tuesday, “The Pivot Podcast” published an extensive interview in which the actor spoke about both his career and his personal life, including how he raises his sons.

“In the past 20 years we have lived through the death of the American man,” said Mackie. “They literally killed masculinity in our houses and our communities, for some reason, but I raised my boys to be young men.”

He explained that he believes that being young men is both maturity and the ability to be a protector.
