Canelo Alvarez reveals the truth about Crawford’s career

Terence Crawford was tired today, reacting to Canelo Alvarez downplaying his record by saying he has only fought a “good” opponent during his 17-year professional career, Errol Spence, and this after a horrific car accident in 2019.

Alvarez: “A good win”

Canelo seems to have mixed feelings about giving an unfulfilled, unproven fighter like Crawford a chance to fight him. Terence never fought any of the killers at 147 or 154.

It’s understandable for Alvarez to take a shot at Crawford, who has a resume that is barren quality wins because this is the truth. It’s an example of how fighters can float through divisions, win titles against weak opposition and then call up a popular fighter for cash-in purposes. There is a system to it. What Crawford has done in winning four division titles is no different Adrien Broner did to achieve the same feat.

Terence’s Four-Division World Title win

– Israel Madrimov – 154
– Jeff Horn – 147
– Thomas Dulorme – 140
– Ricky Burns – 135

Canelo wouldn’t have a problem with Crawford if he at least did that, and that’s not asking much. King Canelo would be right to insist Crawford put his soft skin in the general population at 168 to mix it with the apex predatorsBenavidez, Morrell, Osleys Iglesias, Christian Mbilli and Diego Pacheco.

The four-division Crawford was hurt by Canelo’s exact truth, but all he could respond was that he’s “always had the pleasure of making” his opponents look like “nobodies.” But when he was nobody when he fought them, what does that say about Crawford?

Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) revealed the truth about Crawford’s career. He has only beaten one good fighter, Spence, and that was after he was physically wrecked from his car accident in 2019. Once you get past the win over Errol, there is no one on Terence’s resume that you can call a good fighter. They were either shot when Crawford fought them or B-level their entire career.

Crawford defends his legacy

“Lol this is crazy! So not every fighter I’ve fought is good, but one? Famous! Just remember what you said because I’ve always had the pleasure of making somebody look like nobody,” Terence Crawford told the Xreacting to Canelo Alvarez saying he has only beaten “one good fighter” in Errol Spence during his 17-year professional career.

“I respect Terence Crawford, but he only won one big fight. If you look at his record, he just beat a good fighter. Other than that, I don’t think he beats any big fighter like Spence,” Canelo Alvarez said in an interview with TMZ Sport.

Breaking down Crawford’s wins

– Israel Madrimov
– Errol Spence
– Sean Porter
– Victor Postol
– Jeff Horn
– Jose Benavidez Jr
“Kel Brook.”
– Aamir Khan
– Ricky Burns
– Yuriorkis Gamboa

Turki Al-Sheikh should tell Crawford that he needs to beat these three fighters to win the fight against Canelo:

  1. David Benavidez
  2. David Morrell
  3. Owsley Iglesias

I’d be with Turki if he insisted Crawford run that little gauntlet to beat Canelo golden parachute retirement money. I mean, doesn’t that happen in the NFL and the NBA? You play with the best teams and go to the playoffs and championship games to win the first prize. Crawford is trying to take a shortcut to gold and I can’t respect that. This sets a bad example for others to follow, knowing they can skate their careers, picking and choosing vulnerable prey to get that magical retirement day.
