California pastor gives hope to wildfire victims


A pastor from California whose church burned down raging forest firessays he wants to bring “hope” to people in the state despite the difficult circumstances they face.

According to a previous Fox News Digital article, California residents have been devastated by multiple wildfires that have destroyed 27,000 acres of land around Los Angeles. At least ten people are suspected to have died as a result of the fires. At a time of great despair, as residents flee their homes, churches are joining forces to give people the hope they need in these difficult times.

“For us as churchThe walls of the building we were in burned down and so our goal now is to just be the church outside those walls,” Expressions Church Pastor Christopher Spolar told “Special Report” on Friday. “We just want to be with the people. , giving people the hope we have and know in Christ.”

Spolar, who said it’s a “long road ahead” for the people of California, expressed the power of meeting people where they are, in the midst of their suffering.

‘The first thing we do is say nothing. We just meet people where they are,” the pastor said. “There are not many words to say. A lot of people have lost everything. We have someone in our church who made it with not much but the things she could carry on her back and so there is a lot of sadness, a lot of shock. Our first thing is we just want to sit with people, pray with people and remind them that we believe in a God of resurrection.”

“It was very beautiful to see the unity between the churches and the pastors, where we are together, and we are one church,” Spolar reflected.
