A California mother who confronted Governor Gavin Newsom over his handling of the response to devastating forest fires in Los Angeles County called on him to clean up and resolve the situation so residents can deal with the aftermath of the fire.
Rachel Darvish ran up to Newsom, who was about to get into a black SUV, and explained that her daughter’s school had been destroyed.

“Please tell me what you’re going to do,” said Darvish, an attorney.
Newsom replied that he was trying to reach President Biden so he could find out what they could do to help Darvish and her daughter.

‘Can I hear it? Can I hear your call? Because I don’t believe it,” she replied. Newsom pointed to his phone and claimed he had bad cell service and couldn’t reach the president.
Darvish told Jesse Watters Primetime on Thursday that she wanted to believe Newsom was telling the truth about an attempt to Contact Biden.
‘I really want to believe him. I really want that, and there was no cell phone reception in certain areas, okay? But that in itself is a big problem. Why doesn’t he have a satellite truck with a cell phone? she asked.

Biden met with Newsom on Wednesday to be briefed on the many infernos raging through California.
The president approved a major disaster declaration for the Golden State and announced the disaster Thursday federal government would pay “100%” of disaster response costs related to the wildfires for 180 days.
Darvish said Pacific Palisades has had fires in the past and wasn’t sure why the response was slow.

“I walked out of my house after receiving a report of a fire, packed my things and left because the fire was there. On the way down I didn’t see any fire trucks coming to help me,” she said. Fox News host Jesse Watters.

She added that it is not the firefighters’ fault because orders “come from the top.”
As for Newsom, she said, “Governor, could you just clear this up and… fix it and move on? At least, that’s what I’d like to see. But will that happen? Don’t know. You know, these guys are entrenched in what they do.”
