Caitlin Clark, Taylor Swift welcome Travis Kelce to Chiefs playoff game

Caitlin Clark cheered along with the Kansas City Chiefs Taylor Swift.

Clark, 22, joined Swift, 35, in the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Houston Texans on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Arrowhead Stadium. Video shared via TikTok from the NFL’s official account on Saturday showed Swift’s boyfriend, the Chiefs tight end Travis Kelcebreaking the Texans’ hold.

As fans cheered, the camera zoomed in on Swift’s box seats, where she was seen throwing her arms around Clarke in celebration. Swift was also in the box joined by her parents, Scott and Andreaand her brother Austinall of whom sported Chiefs-branded windbreakers, according to social media.

Saturday’s game against the Texans is the first playoff game of the season for the Chiefs. The winning team will advance to the AFC Conference Championship where they will face either the Baltimore Ravens or the Buffalo Bills. Whoever wins this game will head to the Super Bowl in February.

As for Clarke, the WNBA star recently appeared as a guest on a recent episode of Kelce’s podcast. “New Heights”, which he co-hosts with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kells. During the Jan. 2 episode, Clarke revealed that she did visited Swift’s Eras Tour three different times.

“I went early when Taylor first toured Minnesota at US Bank. One of her early gigs and that was a lot of fun,” Clark told the Kelce Brothers. “I went with some of my friends from college and we had a good time together.”

However, during the podcast, Clarke, who currently plays guard for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, made it clear that being a Chiefs fan is in her blood.

“I’m a kid from the Midwest,” she explained. “I had family in Kansas City and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours away from Kansas City, so this is the closest NFL team. My dad was a huge Chiefs fan growing up. People think I’m a big Chiefs fan, and I’m like, ‘No! I’ve been there before! before Patrick (Maholms) and Travis. We were ride or die.

In an interview with TIME in December 2024 Clarke shared that Swift ended up gifting her with four bags of Eras Tour merchandise, along with a note saying the athlete is “inspiring to watch from afar.”

According to the publication at the time, the pop star invited Clark to attend a Chiefs game with her and noted that she and Travis would soon have to attend an Indiana Fever game as well.
