Brooks Nader tried Ozempic before DWTS: Why it stopped

Brooks Nader was briefly in the limelight to try the controversial weight loss drug Ozempic.

“I took some when it first came out, and everyone did,” Nader, 27, exclusively said Us Weekly at Bio.Me launch event on Tuesday, December 3rd. “I was really sick. I loved it—not gonna lie—and when I moved on Dancing with the starsI couldn’t do both.’

Nader found she “lost a bit of motivation and strength to train” when she took Ozempic shots. (Ozempic, Wegovy, and other similar semaglutides are commonly prescribed for people struggling with weight-related conditions. This is not recommended for accidental weight loss.)

“It was one or the other and I chose dancing. I saved the shot,” added Nader.

Brooks Nader and her sisters took part in a viral TikTok trend over the holiday weekend — and spilled some tea on each other. In the video, Nader, 27, and sisters Grace Ann, Mary Holland and Sarah Jane run around a pool while calling each other “suspects” before sharing different secrets about each person. (…)

Nader’s use of Ozempic was originally discussed in a recent TikTok video where Nader’s sisters called her for losing 20 pounds on Ozempic. The model succinctly replied, “Don’t, don’t!” in the clip.

“Those little brats. I thought, ‘Do you like that?'” Nader said jokingly us about the viral remark. “I can’t get away with anything around them. … They run around the house and just pick on me about everything. If you want something, ask them, they will tell you all my secrets.

After giving up Ozempic, Nader eventually lost weight through her DWTS training.

“I lost a lot of weight, especially toward the end,” Nader said. “I lost about 10 or 15 kilos. I kind of liked it, but I’d also be like, “I wasn’t toned.” That’s something and then I got really, really toned because… it’s like subconsciously; you dance six hours a day and then when you finally have a moment to look in the mirror you’re like, “Oh, wait a minute, okay. It pays off in more ways than one, so I enjoyed that aspect of it.”

Ozempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss – some stars confirm that they have used the drug, while others deny it. After her elimination from the ballroom competition, Nader worried about the toll it would have on her newly toned body.

“My first thought was, ‘Oh… What’s going to happen to my body?'” Nader said us on Tuesday. “I was nervous if I was bidding or not even bidding (and) I was just not toned.”

Nader eventually put “a little weight” back on, which she notes is “good.”

As a model, Nader is used to maintaining her physical health, so partnering with Bio.Me makes sense. The company recently released a new collection of Daily prebiotic fiber flavors (chocolate and tea). Nader uses them daily, putting them in iced coffee and morning smoothies.

“I’ve tried so many different probiotics and things that are supposed to help your gut health, being a model, traveling a lot and trying to stay in shape, I’ve tried them all — and this one really works,” Nader said us. “It’s also tasty and not hard to get. You’re not taking a bunch of supplements. It’s really tasty and I like that.”

She added: “I know it’s cute, it’s so chic. It seems very medical, like we’re doing something really good. … (It) helps keep you regulated, it’s very good for cleansing and I really like it.”

Nader can also appreciate that taking the Bio.Me supplements is directly affecting her mental health.

“I only recently learned that your gut health and your mental health are directly connected and correlated, which is crazy, and obviously mental health is extremely important,” Nader explained to us. “I feel like when we think about gut health, we just think about trying to look skinny or fit or whatever. It goes much deeper than that because it’s all rooted in your mental health.
