Brighton Sign Teenage Stars Stefanos Tzimas


Brighton has signed Greece Under-21 International Stefanos Tzimas in a five and a half year agreement by Nurnberg.

Tzimas will spend the rest of the season on the NURNBERG loan as part of the deal with Club 2.Bundesliga who was choosing to sign the player from PAOK Salonika before selling him to Brighton.

Fabian Hurzeler said: “Stefanos is an excellent young talent, an out-out-out-forward with a natural ability to score goals and we are absolutely happy to have signed him.

“He will take part with us in the summer before the next season, but we look forward to working with him and feeling that he has a very exciting future ahead.”

Tzimas scored 10 goals in 17 league appearances this season, and Brighton’s technical director David Weir believes the 19 -year -old’s development will be better served to stay in Germany.

Weir said: “He will spend the second half of the season with Nurnburg, who gave him an excellent opportunity this season to continue his growth in the Bundesliga 2.

“We will carefully watch his progress and wish him the best for the second half of the season with Nurnberg.”

Brighton is interested in Sunderland Winger Watson

Brighton, forged 7-0 in the Nottingham Forest on Saturday, could be set for a busy day.

They have already sold Benicio Baker-Boaitey to Millwall and striker Evan Ferguson is likely to complete a loan move to West Ham.

Seagulls are still interested in Sunderland Winger Tommy Watson, though the clubs have not yet agreed to an end to the 18 -year -old.
