The Welterweight section is waiting for a dominant world champion to appear and Brian Norman wants to be the man to fill this gap.
The undefeated champions Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis will compete for the IBF and WBA titles next month, Mario Barrios holds the WBC zone and Norman will put the WBO Championship on the line when fighting Derrieck Cuevas on Las Vegas.

Historically, the Welterweight section has produced some of the best fighters in the whole sport. In recent years, the champions Welterweight Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford have been regarded as the best boxers in the world-lb.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are of course very far away and last year, the brilliant Terence Crawford climbed to Super-Welter.
Norman wants to be the next big Welterweight champion.
“We take it day by day, but I know for a fact that I will be a legend in the game. I will be one of those Hall of Famers,” he said. “As the years go on. You will see this resume are stacked.

His father, Brian Norman SR, is his trainer. Unusual last month Norman SR had his first professional race in 14 years.

“I don’t want to see him get injured, so there were a lot of things in it, but as we started the training I have seen from where I take my attitude, I have seen where I get my moral work,” he said. “So I had all the confidence in the world to get into this fight.
“I can take over the world if he can come back after 14 years and fight an active fighter and hit him. So why can’t I do the same with these guys?”
