“I remember, as if it were yesterday, when our eternal captain Zito, along with Alema, came to tell me about another star discovered by the lost Betinho.

“Neymar was his name. A name as different as his talent. And what a talent. What a pleasure to see this boy grow up and become the genius that conquered Santo, Brazil and the world.

“You, Neymar, said goodbye to Vila to make your dreams come true. But you left a promise that we will never forget:” I go, but I’ll be back. “I remember? I am sure that this phrase has left with you all this time.

“The moment has come, Neymar. It’s time to get back to your people. In your home, at our favorite club.

“Welcome, boy Ney! Boy of Villa! Come and be happy again wearing the sacred cloak. The nation Santos is waiting for you with open arms.”

Neymar joined Santos as an 11 -year -old, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young football stars after passing through their academy.

He won himself a move in Barcelona in 2013, forming a devastating collaboration with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in Camp Nou. In total, he scored 105 goals and gave 76 assists to 186 appearances for Blaugrana.

In 2017, he decided to participate in Paris Saint-Germain for a stunning £ 198 million, which remains a world record.

After six mixed years in the French capital, where he reiterated for a while with Messi, Neymar joined Al-Hilal in 2023 for £ 77m.

However, he made only seven appearances on the Saudi Arabian side after fighting with an injury.

After announcing his departure, Al-Hilal said: “The club expresses its gratitude and appreciation to Neymar for what he has offered to Al-Hilal and wishes the player’s success in his career.”
