Actors Brandon Ruth and Courtney Ford speak after ecreated their ten-year marriage.
“We have some personal news to share with everyone who has loved and supported us. After 21 years together and 17 years of marriage, we have decided to begin a new journey and enter this next chapter as friends and parents,” Ruth, 45, and Ford, 46, wrote on Thursday, Jan. 9. Instagram statement.
They added: “We now and forever support each other as we go through this wild adventure called life. Our son is and always will be our highest priority and we appreciate your understanding of this transition.
Ruth and Ford married in 2007 before welcoming 12-year-old son Leo. Us Weekly confirmed earlier this week that the ex Dexter an actress filed for divorce after two decades together. In his petition, Ford requested joint legal and physical custody of Leo, as well as spousal support from Ruth.
Ruth and Ford initially felt “ridiculous” about sharing their divorce news publicly the ongoing forest fires devastating los angeles.
“Yesterday we were focused on getting our bags and evacuating. I feel ridiculous posting this statement while the fires are still raging,” the estranged couple wrote above their Instagram post. “We are safe, but we are in shock and grief for our friends who have lost their homes and businesses.”
They concluded: “Our hearts break for our community devastated by the ongoing fires. We love you Los Angeles❤️.”
Since Tuesday, January 7, Los Angeles has been ravaged by a series of wildfires in the Pacific Palisades that have affected many celebrity residences. Other stars have also sought shelter outside the city limits in accordance with evacuation protocols.
Neither Ford nor Raut shared more information about their family at the time of the fires.
The Superman is back the star and Ford met at Hollywood’s Lucky Strike bowling alley when he was working as a bartender. After three years of dating, Ruth proposed in 2006. They were married the following year.
Both Ford and Ruth regularly shared updates about their lives with Leo via social media.
“The Man, the Myth, the Legend,” Ford gushed in June 2021, sharing a photo of Ruth and Leo. “#HappyFathersDay from Spiderman and me. Thank you for our family @brandonjrouth ❤️.”
Two years later, Ruth returned to the service on Mother’s Day.
“She’s a friend and a mom on the inside,” he wrote via Instagram in May 2023 “So thankful that Leo has @courtneyfordhere to jump into life giving him permission and unconditional love to be fully himself.”
