“Honestly, I’ve had so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I’ve done $10,000 worth of lab work,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Alum, 52, said in an interview with Entertainment tonight Posted on Tuesday, December 10th. “I’ve run every test under the sun.… They’re like, ‘It could be a parasite.’” That’s, you know, new.
Glanville explained that before a doctor theorized that she had potentially contracted a parasite, she had “swelling” and “couldn’t speak.” When she sought treatment, some medical professionals believed the problem could be due to old facial fillers dissolving. However, Glanville said she hasn’t had any fillers in a while and the first ones have already dissolved.
“I was on medication all year. I don’t communicate,” she said at the exit. “I’m not going out and just spending all my money trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.”
Glanville admitted she has already spent about “$70,000” trying to fix the problem. She added that the financial situation has been “stressful” as she has been unable to work for the past two years due to her ongoing health problems.
Although Glanville doesn’t know exactly how she contracted the parasite, she believes it may have happened while she was in Morocco filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. (Glanville was accused of sexual harassment Caroline Manzo while filming the series in 2023. She denied the allegations, but the season has yet to air.)

“We had food sitting for hours and some of it was meat. In Morocco,” she said at the exit and explained her symptoms began to appear after returning home. “Six months after I got back from Morocco I started talking and swelling, it started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out.”
According to Glanville, she has a good idea where the parasite lives under her face. Although she could not see the organism with her own eyes, she saw it and felt it move. If Glanville “messed with it,” it would jump to another area and appear as “little bubbles bursting” on her skin.
In addition to affecting her face, Glanville says the parasite also produces a lot of fluid that her lymph nodes can’t drain properly.

As for getting treatment, Glanville is willing to have surgery to remove it, but her doctors are opting for non-invasive methods first. Glanville admitted she was able to find temporary relief with antibiotics, which lasted about “five days.”
“I wanted to stop (the medication) because it was about $2,000 a week,” she reflected. “I did it for six weeks and it came back.”
Earlier this month, Glanville took to social media to give an update of the battle for her health. She tweeted a selfie of her swollen face and revealed that doctors believe it may have been caused by a parasite.
“What happened? I wish I knew I’ve been in and out of the hospital this past (sic) year 1/2 I’ve spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out,” she wrote via X on Saturday, December 7. “Some Dr. Let’s say I have a parasite jumping around my face. Some say it’s edema caused by stress. I personally say it’s Bravo.”
