Bournemouth sees from Everton, while sorry Southampton hit by the Burnley Championship side

Everton’s recent progress under David Moyes was tested this afternoon, as Bournemouth won 2-0 in the FA Cup final to play in Goodison Park.

Tffees, who move to their new stage in Bramley Dock for the start of the next season, had won three of their four games from Moyes’s return, but do not match Andoni Iraola’s men.

Iraola, who was named yesterday’s Premier League director for January, rests some key players, but Antone Semenyo maintained his position and was the one who helped in their opening.

Having been the victim of a bad challenge by James Tarkowski, Semenyo went up to trigger the resulting sentence after Jordan Pickford after 23 minutes.

And Tarkowski was also his fault for his second Cherries, his slack pass, allowing Marcus Tavernier to take possession of the ball in a dangerous area. Tavernier’s shot is blocked, but Daniel Jebbisson linked the ball to the second attempt.

Debut Carlos Alcaraz hit a position for Everton, but they couldn’t find back.

Saints stumble over again

Burnley continued their remarkable 1-0 win at Southampton in what a little shock could be sorted.

The Scott Parker side, who came in this game on the back of the nine successive clean leaves in the league, won it over the new signing of Marcus Edwards’s 77th minute.

Saints Ipswich Premier League fellow fighters went much better, winning 4-1 at Coventry City.

In the summer he signs Jack Clarke, who struggled to influence his tractor boys after being moved from Sunderland, which was offset twice after George Hirst’s timely sentence.

Jaden Philogene won the fourth of Ipswich.

Muniz in double for fulham

Rodrigo Muniz scored twice as Fulham won 2-1 in Wigan, for whom Jonny Smith was on the target.

The games between Stoke and Cardiff and Preston and Wycombe went in extra time.

Stoke had only passed 2-0 to hit back to drive 3-2. Rubin Colwill did it 3-3 with his second game.

Preston and Wycombe were miserable after 90 minutes.

Azeez Downs Leeds

In the early games of the FA Cup of the day, Manchester City hit back to win 2-1 in Leyton Orient While Millwall secured a 2-0 win in Leeds with two goals by Femi Azeez.

Goalkeeper visitor Liam Roberts prevented Leeds from returning to the game, saving Pascal Struijk’s sentence.
