Border Patrol Recruiter kicked California High School Career Fair


A school district in California has apologized after one American border patrol Recruiter this week was “unintentionally” refused access to a career fair for a high school and said that what happened was a “misunderstanding”.

The Coachella Valley Unified School District said that a Border Patrol recruiter was “unintentionally denied” entry into a career fair at Coachella Valley High School by the director on Wednesday.

“We want to make it very clear that we do not approve this behavior, and appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken with the staff members involved to ensure that this no longer happens,” the district said in a press release.

“Our students have the valuable interactions and insights they have gained by learning about careers in law enforcement and the border patrol greatly appreciated,” it went further. “We acknowledge the importance of offering our students from Real-World career options and opportunities.”

The district added that it welcomes the presence of the border patrol on all future career fairs in its three secondary schools.

The American border patrol sector Chief Gregory Bovino wrote about the incident on X, so that he was asked: “Agendas in schools?”

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with them for our youth and students,” he wrote.

The High organized 36 suppliers on his career fair on Wednesday, The Desert Sun reported. Bovino said that the American border patrol was invited to participate in the High School’s College and Career Fair for three years to promote careers in federal law enforcement.

Earlier this year, the district of schools began to equip red cards, known as “Know Your Rights” cards, to help people assert their rights and defend themselves if they come across federal immigration authoritiesThe newspaper reported.
