But Barca will probably be under pressure again once they start on Sunday, with Madrid expected to move to points when they face Leganes in Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. Barca will remain top, regardless of whether it has hit Madrid 4-0 in October, but the expected routine victory for the Carlo Ancelotti side will increase Barca’s weight not to slip against a team qualifying for the Champions League last season.
Girona reached Europe’s top table after reaching the stunning heights of third place in 2023-24. However, they were unable to question Laliga’s established order this campaign. Indeed, it is only seven points above the relegation zone.
