Barcelona “can improve” Flick says after Las Palmas’ win

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick says his side can be improved after a 2-0 fierce battle in Las Palmas on Saturday put them back to the top of La Liga’s rankings.

Barca tried to produce many good target staircase opportunities before Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres came out of the bench to score goals in the second half that kept the Catalan giants in place of the La Liga heated title driver.

Barcelona drives 54 points, one in front of Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid is third on 51, but has a game in hand and will host Girona on Sunday.

“I’m not completely happy with the game, but I’m happy with the three points,” Flick said.

“I was worried in the first half, but we corrected some issues we had during the break and the players understood what they needed to improve. They saw how they could do better in the second half.

“It was for everyone who participated in the team’s work. Keeping another clean leaf was very important. We lost a lot of balls in the first half. We need and we can improve it.

“But overall I can say I’m happy. Happy because we are still in the lead and this is a good situation in which we are. We know that we can improve and that we must continue to improve the transition. ”

The Barca Face Atletico in the Copa del Rey semifinal on Tuesday and has Benfica the last 16 of the Champions League.
