Auburn Tigers Head coach Hugh Freeze was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, the university revealed on Friday.

“Coach Freeze was recently diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer,” said the statement. “Fortunately, it was discovered early and his doctors advised that it is very treatable and healable. He will continue his normal coaching tasks and responsibilities, and the upcoming correct treatment is expected to recover completely.”
Auburn officials also shared the hope of Freeze that his health struggle serves as a reminder of Health Screenings annual.

Auburn finished with a 6-6 regular seasonal record under Freeze in 2023, before he lost in the Music City Bowl. The Tigers did not show much improvement in the second season of Freeze at the helm and ended with a 5-7 record.
