Emery will hope that the central half Ezri Konsa is declared appropriate after an injury, especially with Axel’s recovery not eligible against his parent club.
Ross Barkley, Amadou Onana and Boubacar Kamara are absent.
Chelsea will be without England, Noni Madueke, having suffered an injury to Brighton who will keep him out until the international break.
Christopher Nkunku will probably start again in False Nine role with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu injured.
