Arsenal responded quickly, equating through Jorginho’s synthetic sentence after Thomas Party’s fall in the box.
Visitors control the second half, dominating the possession and creating most of the possible.
Ethan Nwaneri, already the second young English scorer in the history of the Champions League, produced the magic of the magic in the 42nd minute, cutting in and making a brilliant effort in the far corner.
Leandro Trossard hit the cross shortly before halftime, as Arsenal is pressured for a third.

And they could have had it in a few minutes to go after a Girona handball gave the Gunners another sentence.
Raheem Sterling returned, but saw his attempt to be saved, reflecting his hard time with the North London Club this season.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “Really well at the moment. Things are going well.
“We won the last four games in the Champions League, but the victory in this competition is very demanding, but overall the team was very consistent, regardless of all the issues they had to face.
“Let’s hope that more faith in this dressing room that we are a good team and we can deal with anyone and run and win games.”
Prior to Arsenal’s victory over Girona, reports broke that the club had seen a pound of £ 60m for Ollie Watkins.
He comes after Arteta admits that his side needs a new striker, but refused to comment on the issue.
He added: “I can’t talk about that. My trust is that we have an amazing club with people who always work to try and improve. Let’s see what’s going on.”
