Arsenal have equaled an English top-flight record for most away games with at least five goals scored in a single calendar year in all competitions.
The Gunners went five clear of West Ham United in a lively 5-2 win at the London Stadium – the fifth time Arsenal have scored five away goals in 2024.
The current record for an English top-flight team stands at five games. Sunderland achieved the feat in 1892 and Manchester City achieved their record in 1937 and Arsenal they have now equaled the price in 2024.
Mikel Arteta’s side still have time to claim their own record, with two more away games on their Premier League schedule before the end of the calendar year.
Arsenal first make the trip to Fulham on December 8 and then, after hosting Everton, return to the road for the short trip to London to Crystal Palace on December 21.
The 5-2 win over West Ham was the second time Arsenal have hit five this season. The Gunners put five after Sporting CP just four days before the game against the Hammers.
Last season, Arsenal also recorded consecutive away games with at least five goals. February brought a 6-0 win over West Ham and a 5-0 win against Burnley in quick succession. After a game of just four scores, Arsenal beat a woeful Sheffield United side 6-0 at Bramall Lane.
