Anthony Gordon has retired from the England team due to an injury in front of the World Cup qualifier against Latvia.
Newcastle Winger suffered a hip injury during Friday 2-0 win over Albania after reaching a substitute.
Although it was only in the field for 15 minutes, the 24 -year -old saw hitting the final whistle before heading under the tunnel.
In a formal statement on Sunday, England said: “Anthony Gordon has retired from Camp Three Lions, suffering injury during Friday night in Albania.
“Forward returned to Newcastle United for further evaluation.”
After medical scanning, Gordon will continue his restoration to Newcastle, which attributes him from Monday’s match against Latvia at Wembley – the second game with the new director Thomas Tuchel.

Following Friday’s game, Tuchel commented on Gordon’s injury, saying: “He looks injured.” First of all I thought it was his stomach, but it’s his hip and doesn’t look good, it’s a little worrying, yes. “
Gordon, who is suspended for the final victory of the Newcastle Carabao Cup last Sunday, is also going to lose their first game after the international break, a home against Bradford on April 2.
However, if recovering in time, it could be available for a choice against Leicester City on April 7.
The injury is a regression for Gordon, who hopes to use the Latvian race as an opportunity to bet his claim for more play under the Tuchel.
The Director of England had expressed some dissatisfaction with the performances of the original wings Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford after Albania’s victory, implying that there could be room for change.
“We hope for a greater impact on these positions,” Tuchel said. “More dribbles and more aggressive routes to the box. Generally that was missing. The odds come from the short routes behind the line. They were not as decisive as they could.
“Both wings that started were not as aggressive as they can be in the club’s football. I’m not so sure why we fought to get the ball quickly.
“We miss the ball. It was a little too much passing, not enough dribble. Not quite aggressive towards the goal. They were well trained, it was decisive in education.
“That’s why I think they were worth it (to get started), they were very good in recent weeks with their clubs. We will continue to encourage them.”
