Angelina Jolie and a daughter Sugar came out together in the actress’s first public appearance since her divorce from Brad Pitt was finalized.

The Lara Croft: Tomb Raider The 49-year-old star and her daughter, 19, posed together on the red carpet while attending the Palm Springs International Film Awards on Friday, January 3.

Angelina wore a black dress with a plunging neckline and debuted new bangs for the event, while Zahara opted for a white one-shoulder dress.

At the event at the Palm Springs Convention Center, Angelina was honored with the Desert Palm Actress Achievement Award for her work in the Netflix film Maria.

The mother-daughter outing comes less than a week after Angelina and ex-husband Pitt finalized their divorce after eight years.

Angelina first filed for divorce in 2016, kicking off a lengthy legal battle over ownership of their $164 million Château Miraval French winery and custody of their childrenMaddox, 23, pax, 21, Sugar19, Shiloh18, Knox16 and Vivien16. They settled their divorce on December 30, but have been legally single since 2019.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce by Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the properties they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s attorney James Simon said us in a statement. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that began eight years ago. To be honest, Angelina is exhausted, but she’s relieved that this part is over.’

A representative for Pitt declined to confirm or comment.

When it comes to the children of the former couplesaid a source Us Weekly exclusive in April 2019. to Angelina: “Her children are her life. Every day is a new adventure.”

The insider added: “(Jolie) really enjoys the life lessons and new ideas that come from trying different things. The sky is the limit for her.”

Angelina has gushed about her children before, including Zahara. The Maleficent said the star hello magazine in 2017 that there is a specific quality about her daughter that brings her joy.

“The sound of Zahara’s laughter,” Angelina told the publication when asked what makes her happy. “She’s one of those people who laughs with her whole body. Completely open and full of joy.”
