An employee of the American Airlines was killed in a single vehicle accident in Charlotte Douglas International Airport In North Carolina Monday, officials said.
The incident happened around 9:30 am and concerned a slope vehicle from the airline, the Airport Fox News Digital told a statement. Emergency and medical crews responded quickly, the airport said, although the American Airlines Employee did not survive the accident.
“Our deepest condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of the employee during this difficult time,” said an airport spokesperson.
No additional details about the accident were immediately given. The airport said that it works closely with the airline and First Responders in the current investigation.

A spokesperson for the American Airlines confirmed the employee’s death to Fox News Digital in a statement.
“We were destroyed by the accident with a team member of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT),” said the spokesperson for the airline. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and our local team members. We are aimed at guaranteeing that everyone involved has the support they need in this difficult time.”
