Alphonso Davies has committed his future in Bayern Munich, signing a new contract with the Bundesliga champions.
Following the announcement of the agreement on Tuesday, Real Madrid’s prolonged interest in the Canadian star was effectively ended.
The new deal will keep Davies at the Allianz Arena by the end of the 2029-30 season, signaling what could be an 11-year term with the club if he sees the full contract.
“I am very happy to have expanded my contract to this big club,” Davies said in a statement.
“I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to know as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my place. Now I am looking forward to another five years together. I have already achieved a lot here but there are more to come. “
Davies’ decision to remain deals in a blow to Real Madrid, who were willing to secure the 24 -year -old left behind services.

His previous contract was set to expire in June 2025, and Madrid hoped to either negotiate a transfer fee or bring him to free transfer this summer.
Despite Madrid’s interest, Bayern was determined to maintain Davies, offering him a reinforced contract to secure his stay in Munich.
“Alphonso Davies has become one of the best players in the world in Bayern and has attracted great interest,” said Bayern Athletic Director Christoph Freund.
“The fact that he wants to continue here with us shows Bayern’s situation in international football and that Alphonso found his sports home in Munich.”
This season, Davies appeared in 16 Bundesliga matches under coach Vincent Kompany, finding the net once helping Bayern keep their spot on top of the table.
Davies initially joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019 and has since become one of the primary players on the left side of the world.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, continues to seek aid on the left back due to the uncertainties around Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
The Spanish giants have a history of securing top talents in free transport, with recent examples such as Kylian Mbappe in 2024, Antonio Rudiger in 2022 and Bayern’s David Alaba in 2021.
