Alexander-Arnold in Miss Cup final but not the rest of the season

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will lose the final of the weekend championship against Newcastle, but will return before the end of the season.

The right back was not named after Thomas Tuchel’s first group of England on Friday morning, and manager Arne Slot confirmed that he has an ankle injury.

The 26 -year -old was injured in the second half of the Champions League exit in Paris, St. Germany, and his absence leaves the reception without a recognized right back with Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez as well.

“Trent is not available. It won’t be there in the final,” Splot said.

“But he still has to be evaluated for how long he will take, but we are waiting for him before the end of the season.”

Alexander-Arnold is one of Liverpool’s three big players out of contract at the end of the season-with Mo Salah and Virgil Van Dijk.

Van Dijk said in the middle week that he didn’t know if he would be in the club next season. Slot said: “The only thing I know is that I want Virgil to be here next season and all the rest, these talks on contracts, that’s not what I do here.

“If we win or lose the final, there will be frustration, but we really look forward to it, to play a final again, because you can’t get a final for granted, especially not in this country with so many good teams involved in every Cup competition.

“So we look forward to being part of it, and if you are part of it. Of course you want and try to win it. But this is probably the newcastle.”
