Al-Nassr 3-0 Esteghlal-Ronaldo and Duran Score in victory


Cristiano Ronaldo was sentenced to a penalty and former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran scored twice as Al-Nassr defeated the Iranian side Esteghlal to move to the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.

After a crap tie on the first leg, which Ronaldo lost, The Saudi side didn’t take long to take the lead.

A loose pass by Seed Hosseini was seized from Colombia to the front Duran, and put the ball home in order.

Ronaldo went near a free kick before burning a penalty won by former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

Esteghlal had a mountain to climb which got a steeper one before the break when Mehran Ahmdi was sent for a second offense.

This got every sting from the tie and after Ronaldo twice went close, Duran found a third goal of the night, turning Angelo’s passage close.

Al-Nassr has never won the AFC Champions League and will discover their opponents for the last eight in a draw on Friday, March 14th.

Ronaldo won the Champions League in Europe five times – with Manchester United in 2008 and Real Madrid in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
