Adam Carolla criticizes California leaders for ‘driving the state into the ground’ as fires rage: ‘Crazy idiots’

Comedian Adam Carolla slammed California politicians, accusing “environmental lunatics” of trying to “run the state into the ground” as wildfires rage through Los Angeles County.

“Donald Trump said we had to clear the forest, then you knew it wouldn’t happen, because no matter what he says, we do the opposite,” Carolla said. Sean Hannity on Wednesday.

‘He wants to build a wall on the border. We want to break it down. He likes ivermectin. We say it’s horse paste. He wants clearing the forest. We reject everything, so we will do the opposite of everything Trump has ever proposed, number one.”

“The state is run by a handful of environmental nuts, like the Coastal Commission. Eight or twelve…unelected people decide what happens in the entire state,” he continued. “That’s how it’s always been: a handful of crazy idiots running everyone else into the ground.”

Carolla, who had to evacuate Tuesday, said he still doesn’t know if anything remains of his home.

“I would say at best it’s a coin toss,” he said, when asked if he thinks his house is still intact. “I have seen many images of houses around my house burned to the ground. There is still some hope that my house is still intact, but if it is, it would be a miracle.”

Critics have scrutinized leaders like Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass left-wing policy approaches fire prevention, and many blame Liberal leaders for the catastrophic damage.

Bass, in particular, has come under heavy criticism for traveling to Ghana while her city was dealing with last year’s devastating fires and her cuts to the LA Fire Department’s budget.

“Three and a half weeks ago we had a major fire in Malibu. It’s not like it was three and a half years ago. This is an ongoing problem,” Carolla said. “And Newsom likes to say it’s year-round now because he wants to talk about climate change, so he’s the first person to be aware of it.”

“They want to blame everything on climate change, but in reality it is their inaction,” he continued. “That’s why we’re in this predicament.”

Carolla warned that Democrats will lose their deep blue districts in areas like Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica if they “don’t get it done.”

“These are deep blue progressive cities who vote and raise money and bend over backwards for these people, but they no longer have a home, and it’s because of you, so it’s time to get it together,” he warned.

When Bass returned from her trip abroad on Wednesday, she was pressed about her fire prevention efforts, but she had no say.

Carolla argued that liberal leaders are not used to challenging questions about their own leadership, as the media is also largely on their side.

“The city officials are … very left-wing and very deep blue, and they even get angry when you ask them substantive questions,” he said. “They are not even used to difficult questions being asked, because the media is also in their pockets and so they don’t even know how to respond when a difficult question is asked.”
