The actress appeared on “SNL” to welcome host Martin Short to the prestigious Five-Timers club, which she joined in 2017. However, before Jost made jokes about his wife, he read out racist jokes that Che had written for him, as has happened in years past.

“I’m sorry in advance,” he told the audience before making a joke about the vice president Kamala Harris and slavery reparations. “Y’all know my girl Kamala Harris had a town hall where she talked about (how) she still supports the idea of reparations for slavery. Well, damn it, girl. Me, too. Because white people deserve our money back for all those slaves who ran away. he said, visibly shocked by the comment. “Shiz. I’m not afraid of you mofos,” an anguished Jost read aloud, laughing.
The next joke focused on Jost’s wife, but he continued to speak in a “black voice” throughout the segment.
“I want to dedicate this next joke to my sweetheart, Scarlett Johansson,” Jost said. The camera then moved to Johansson backstage watching the footage. With her drink in her hand, Johansson shivered as she prepared herself for the inevitable.

“No! Oh my god, she’s so genuinely concerned,” Jost said before cracking the joke. “Hey, boo. You all know that Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday. That means I’m about to leave there.’
“Why?” Johansson could be heard saying as the camera cut to her. “Shiz,” Jost continued hysterically. “No, no. I’m just playing.” We just had a kid together, and y’all haven’t seen any pictures of him yet because he’s black as hell,” he said, referring to the couple’s son, Cosmo. “Shiz. I’m not afraid of you mofos,” he repeated.
“Oh s—,” Johansson said, the camera back on her, and took a sip of her drink.

Last year, Jost had to joke about his wife’s acting talent. “New York State now allows movie theaters to sell alcohol,” Jost read. “So I can finally enjoy my wife’s little art films,” he said, picturing Johansson in the Marvel film.Black widow‘ appeared on the screen. “I’m kidding, honey. I love all your movies. And if you ask me, you’re an even better ‘Black Widow’ than Coretta Scott King,” he said as he cringed.

Five months ago, Johansson admitted to “The Kelly Clarkson Show‘ that it was difficult to watch the segment. ‘It’s so bad. I black out during that period of the night,” she joked. “I don’t actually remember.”
