Sports fans almost everywhere watching “Jeopardy!” on Thursday evening probably shouted at their television.
The clue to the ‘last danger’ was “Super Bowl History,” and although sports is almost never an area of expertise for participants, this clue was quite simple.
“They’re the only team that played in the Super Bowl before Neil Armstrong’s moonwalk and hasn’t been to the big game since,” the clue read.

There weren’t many options to choose from, as only five teams played in the Super Bowl from 1967 to 1969: the Green Bay Packers twice, the Oakland Raiders, the Jets from New York (the answer), and the Baltimore Colts.
However, the participants were completely baffled.
The first contestant revealed that his answer was the Cleveland Browns. You can’t blame him, but since they never even appeared in the Super Bowl, it was incorrect.

However, the second is perhaps the most confusing answer, as Eric ‘the Giants’ wrote. They’ve been to five, of course, all since 1986, winning two against the New England Patriots. Wrong.
The final participant also went with a team that has never been to a Super Bowl and simply wrote “Houston,” even though the city has hosted three Super Bowls.
Ken Jennings added to the Jets’ pile of woes.
“The Jets are having a pretty rough 55-year run,” Jennings said.

That streak will continue this year as they have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, and it looks like it will continue for at least a while.
