“James is trying to get everything back, including (the girlfriend) An ally (Luber),” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “If he doesn’t stay sober, he knows he has a lot to lose.”
According to the insider, Luber, 28, is keeping her distance for now as Kennedy prioritizes her sobriety. The source added that Kennedy “remains sober and is receiving treatment. He takes it (very) seriously.”
“Ali is staying away until he gets help and she’s relying on friends and family,” the insider says. “People rally around her. She has a lot of support.”
Kennedy’s representatives did not respond us request for comment.
Kennedy, 32, is arrested on Tuesday, December 10, after law enforcement received a call “regarding an argument between a man and a woman” at Kennedy and Luber’s home. Police believed it to be a “domestic incident” and Kennedy was subsequently taken into custody.
After news of his arrest broke, Kennedy’s lawyers spoke up in a statement to us.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” the Dec. 13 statement said. “We understand there were no injuries and we hope that after a careful review, city attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”

Luber, for her part, has stayed out of the public eye since Kennedy’s arrest made headlines, but she took to social media to let everyone know how was he doing.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out with love and support and checking me out,” Lewber wrote via his Instagram story on Saturday, December 14. “I’m fine and I’m taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate the courtesy and respect for my privacy during this time.”
A second source said earlier us that Lewber’s parents came “into town” and the group stayed at an “Airbnb.”
A week after his arrest, Kennedy broke his silence to share how he is sorting out his priorities his commitment to being sober.
“I’m committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” the Bravo star shared via Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Dec. 17. “I’m taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging times is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with an amazing support system around me.”
