The first Superman trailer shows David Korensuet, Rachel Brosnahan in action


It’s not a bird or a plane – it is Superman trailer.

The first teaser for the director James GunnThe new iteration of the beloved comic book character dropped on Thursday, December 19. Twisters star David Korensuet takes the nose like Superman (aka Clark Kent) while The wonderful Mrs. Meisel alum Rachel Brosnahan portrays his co-star turned true love, Lois Lane.

In an opening shot of an injured Superman crashing in the Arctic, he whistles to summon his superdog, Krypto, to “take me home.” The adorable pup follows his instructions, biting his cape to get him to safety.

The trailer is packed with first looks at the star-studded cast, including Nicholas HoltLex Luthor, who is seen scheming in his LuthorCorp tower and holding a gun. Characters like Nathan Filliongreen lantern, Isabella Mercedis Hawkgirl and Eddie GathegiMister Terrific appears with Superman in a Stagg Industries building.

Anthony Carrigan looks unrecognizable as Metamorpho, while Superman is shown in what looks like the Fortress of Solitude, rocking a robot.

The trailer doesn’t offer many hints about the film’s plot, but it does include glimpses of some jaw-dropping action sequences. However, a shot of a bystander throwing a can at Superman’s head suggests that the citizens of this universe are less accepting of the Man of Steel.

The preview ends with a sweet shot of Superman and Lois sharing a kiss — while levitating — before the titular hero blasts off into the sky.

Before filming wrapped, Brosnahan, 34, talked about Lois Lane’s legacy as he spoke exclusively for Us Weekly.

“I have big shoes to fill,” Brosnahan admitted us in July. “But this Superman was made with a lot of love, and everyone is excited about the responsibility of carrying on this iconic tradition and being a part of this canon. So, I look to those who came before, I’m in awe of them, and I’m excited to pick up the torch.”

She follows Amy Adamswho last appeared as the intrepid reporter in the Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).

“It was an amazing experience,” Brosnahan continued. “I have met exceptional artists. It was exciting to watch James Gunn at the helm of this project. He sets the tone. He comes to work every day so excited to be there, and it comes from the top. David Korensuet and Nick (Holt) and the rest of the cast and I are learning from him and having fun.”

Joining the Emmy winner is Korensuet, 31, who takes over Henry Cavill. Cavill, 41, announced that he would I don’t play Superman anymore in December 2022 after nearly 10 years in the role. Gunn, 58, assured the audience that the actor was perfect for the role.

“Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, David Korensuet is going to scare everyone with how awesome he is,” Gunn said The Hollywood Reporter in November. “He’s one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with, and he can do anything. The man is amazing.”
