Whoopi Goldberg Jokes About Musk and Vance’s Trump Assassination Plot: ‘Stay Away From the Stairs’

Whoopi Goldberg made a crude joke about the hypothetical murder of President-elect Donald Trump during a discussion about Elon Musk’s political influence.

“Who’s in charge? Because I’ve been saying it for a while. I’ll say it already – I think Elon Musk believes he’s president. I do that too,” Goldberg said on ABC News. “The view” on Thursday.

Her comments came during a conversation about the bipartisan agreement to avoid a partial government shutdown killed after Republican Party opposition. Musk, an adviser and supporter of Trump, was one of the most outspoken figures against the spending bill.

During the segment, co-host Joy Behar suggested that newly elected Vice President JD Vance and Musk were conspiring to steal the presidency from Trump.

“Hey, you-know-who (Trump); stay away from the stairs,” Goldberg joked as the crowd erupted in laughter and applause. Goldberg often refers to Trump as “you know who,” as a way to belittle him instead of using his name.

“Because, you know, people stick out their legs to trip you up when you’re going down the stairs. Be careful,” she explained.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings noted that Goldberg’s question about who is “in charge” came on the same day the Wall Street Journal reported a bombshell article about a “rejected” President Biden and how his White House protected him during his only term in office.

Goldberg’s joke also follows two assassination attempts on Trump earlier this year.

Ryan Routh would have waited for more than 12 hours with a gun near Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach while Trump was golfing on September 15. A Secret Service agent saw Routh pointing a gun through a fence and shot him. Routh fled before shooting Trump and was arrested that day.
