Incoming border czar Tom Homan declared in an interview with CNN on Wednesday that the mass deportation of illegal immigrants will begin on “day one.”
Homan, who President-elect Trump tapped to oversee border security and deportation operations during his second administration, spoke with CNN host Kaitlan Collins about what his border security agenda will look like once the new administration is in power.
“Day one – ICE officers across the country will be hitting the streets,” Homan said, in response to the host’s question about when the “mass deportations” would begin.

CNN host Katilan Collins interviews incoming border czar Tom Homan about his plans for immediate mass deportations of illegal immigrants.
Homan told Collins that such a project would start as soon as possible because there are currently many “threats to public safety” due to illegal immigration in America.
“Right out of the gate – the president has made it clear, and I have made it clear – the priority right out of the gate is threats to public safety and national security. And there are plenty of them around,” he insisted. .
The incoming border czar, who also served as head of the deportation division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during World War II Obama administrationadded that President Biden’s lack of border enforcement has led to this threat to national security and public safety.
“I looked at the data under the Biden administration: deportations of criminal aliens are down 74 percent,” he said. “So we have all those people that the Biden administration has been unable to deport, plus the more than 10 million encounters at the southern border that came across.”
“So there are plenty of threats to public safety and it will keep us busy,” Homan added.

The New York Times recently reported that the Biden administration had the highest immigration rate in American history. Citing a new report from the Congressional Budget Office, the newspaper noted that net migration during Biden’s term will ultimately reach about eight million people.
Sixty percent of this net migration is illegal immigration, the report said, adding that Biden’s “welcoming immigration policies during his first three years in office” were among the factors in this immigration wave.
The Times also reported: “After taking office, the (Biden) administration relaxed rules on asylum and other immigration policies, making it easier for people to enter the United States. Some have been granted temporary legal status while their cases moved through backlogged immigration courts. Others have stayed without legal permission.”
In addition, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) figures provided to Republican lawmakers in September showed that there are more than 7 million illegal immigrants who are not being detained but are awaiting or going through the process of being removed from the U.S. .

They include 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 with pending criminal charges.
Homan is not someone who minces words with the media about the upcoming deportation strategy. The newly appointed border czar went viral in October for his answer to a question on “60 Minutes” about how he would avoid family separation when deporting illegal immigrants.
“Families can be deported together,” Homan responded.
Homan too publicly declared Denver’s Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston said he was willing to go to jail for his opposition to the Trump administration’s border policies. Homan told Fox News Channel last month that he would be willing to do a favor for Johnston, saying, “But look, me and the mayor of Denver, we agree on one thing. He’s willing to go to jail, I I’m prepared to lock him up.” prison.”
