The Real Housewives of the Potomacis Karen Huger unnamed third president of the United States Thomas Jefferson and Andy Cohen after her car accident in March.

Huger, 61, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and four other charges on Wednesday, December 18, although she was acquitted of reckless driving. Following the conclusion of her trial in Rockville, Maryland, prosecutors released police footage of Huger the night of the incident, as shared by the Fox 5 DC host Marrakesh Marina through X.

In police body cam footage from the night of March 19, Huger can be seen sitting in the passenger seat of a police car and telling a police officer that she was known as “The Grand Dame” – a reference to her nickname of RHOP – and that “Andy Cohen did this.” She continues, “I don’t know what the hell this is about.”

After being taken to a local police station, a police body camera shots then shows Huger seemingly disagreeing with a police officer and at one point calling herself “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.”

Huger was charged with DUI, careless driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision and failure to notify authorities of a change of address in court Wednesday, on Fox 5 DC. (Us Weekly (has reached out to Bravo for comment on the verdict.)

“While we are disappointed with the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate the time they took to hear our case,” Huger’s attorney, A. Scott Boldensaid people in a statement. “We continue to reserve Ms. Huger’s right to appeal and fully intend to seek justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Ms. Huger and her family at this time.”

In March, Huger was involved in a car accident in Potomac, Maryland. Montgomery County Police told TMZ at the time Huger was driving his 2017 Maserati. in an “aggressive manner” in Potomac when he struck an intersection sign and a parking sign.

She was not arrested, but received multiple citations from police at the time. She was later charged with DUI and DWI.

During her trial, police body camera footage showed an officer telling her she had been “struck” as she appeared to be slurring her words, reports Fox 5 DC. Multiple witnesses testified during the trial, including an emergency physician who claimed that Huger refused treatment at the scene and “wobbled” when she tried to get into an ambulance.

At the time of the incident, Huger said he was dealing with emotional distress.

“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I’m still in shock from last night’s incident, but I’m thankful to be alive today. With the passing of my beloved mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother’s Day approaching, it feels more like a tsunami,” Huger TMZ in a March statement. “Last night I met a friend for dinner and we talked and brought up some very emotionally sensitive topics. I was crying on the way home and saw a car coming right at me. I swerved to avoid a head-on collision, hit the divider and then a tree. I’m hurt, a little bruised, but so thankful to be alive! I received citations, one of which was unrelated to the accident, which is understandable, but the most surprising thing was that the car that almost hit me just drove away!”

She concluded: “I would like to stress that it is important to understand your emotional state when driving and let this be a reminder to everyone to wear their seat belts, my mum may be my guardian angel but the seat belt saved my life.”

Huger is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2025.
