Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s daughter Alex gives birth to 1st baby

Ree Drummond it’s officially a grandma!

The pioneer woman The 55-year-old host took to social media on Wednesday, December 18, to share the happy news that her eldest daughter Alex has given birth to her first child, a daughter named Sophia.

“Our first baby has had her first baby,” Drummond captioned it Instagram postwhich included a photo of her holding the little one while sitting next to her husband Ladd Drummond in a hospital room.

“Thank you Lord, we will never be the same,” she added, unleashing a barrage of comments from family, friends and fans.

“Sophia already loves her grandparents,” Alex, 27, wrote on her mother’s post, adding a crying emoji.

Ree’s daughter, Paige, 24, responded: “Grandma’s Ray ❤️.”

Meanwhile, Sonny Anderson — Ree’s Food Network co-star — left a sweet note that read, “Sending you all everything you need, good cheer and rest and happy tear wipes…all good things.” congratulations ❤️.”

Ri shared more snapshots via her Instagram Stories, including close-ups of the sleeping baby swaddled in a blanket with a ribbon wrapped around its head.

“On the side… How come hospital swaddle blankets have the same leg pattern from 30 years ago,” she wrote in one story, adding a laughing emoticon. “Okay, bye.”

In another story, she reposted Alex’s Instagram birth announcement which she co-published with her husband Mauricio Scott on Wednesday.

“She’s here,” Alex captioned their photo carousel. “December 18, 2024 At 2:27am our perfect baby girl arrived a few weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you Lord.”

The black and white photos show Alex and Mauricio posing with their newborn moments after her arrival. In one emotional photo, Alex is in tears meeting Sofia for the first time.

Earlier this year, Alex announced that she and Scott are expanding their family. The couple married in 2021.

“We can’t wait to meet you baby,” Alex wrote on Instagram. “Baby Scott is joining the party this winter!”

At the time, Ri commented, “Extremely happy for you two!! (And to the whole family!) I love you, Alex and Mauricio!”

The celebrity chef and lifestyle mogul is also mother to sons Bryce, 21, Jamar, 21, and Todd, 19, who she shares with Ladd.

Last summer Ree took her blog to discuss Alex’s important event.

“My child is going to have a child. It’s surreal and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of leaving your body for a moment (after hearing) news like that,” the chef gushed.

“We have no idea what being a grandparent will be like or how much it will change our lives,” she said, explaining that Alex is due in January 2025.

“I’ll probably watch less Bravo, maybe? (Maybe not.) Can grandmothers have long hair? Can Grandpas Look Sexy in Wranglers? How long before a baby can ride a horse?” she joked.
