The pop star went to Instagram on Wednesday, December 18 to mark her 44th with a topless portrait. In the black-and-white image, Aguilera strikes a sultry pose, crouching on the floor with her side facing the camera, her platinum blonde curls framing her bare shoulders. She wears a black leather newsboy cap, black short shorts, strappy shoes and dramatic makeup.
“Birthday Suit #44,” Aguilera captioned her post.
Naturally, her fans went wild in the comments.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEGENDTINA THE BEST SINGER IN THIS WORLD,” gushed one fan.
Another wrote: “I’m getting older in years but younger in looks is what I’m talking about!!!!”
Aguilera, who won five Grammys during her Y2K heyday, wrapped up a nine-month residency in Vegas in August. Three months later she performed a surprising duet with Sabrina Carpenter during Carpenter’s time Short ‘N Sweet Tour concert in Los Angeles.
At the time, Aguilera appeared in the venue wearing a black bustier and silver over-the-knee boots as she belted out a vocal riff that kicked off a performance of “Ain’t No Other Man.” Carpenter, 25, subsequently joined her in the center to complete the number, according to social media shots. They also sang Aguilera’s “What a Girl Wants.”
In November, Aguilera shared a rare photo of her family of four through Instagram. The “Genie in a Bottle” singer poses with her fiance, Matthew Rutlerand her two children, son Max, 16, and daughter Summer, 10. (Aguilera welcomed Max with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman in 2008 and shares the summer with Rutler, 39.)
“On the way to school the other day with her dad, (Summer) said, ‘When I grow up, I want to be either mom’s photographer or mom’s manager.’ It’s so funny,” Aguilera said Vogue earlier this year. “That’s what we said Will.i.am that (when he came to see the show), and he said, “Oh my God, she’s your daughter.” So daughter is the word of the year. It’s just so sweet.”
Aguilera talks about her journey with motherhood in an interview with Refined life in 2019, explaining how she balancing family and career to create a stable life for her children.
“I made a decision a while back to not go on tour for a while because I thought it was the best thing to make a more stable, routine life for my kids,” she said at the time. “Even when I took the place of (The voice), wasn’t really something I wanted to pursue. I just thought, ‘This keeps me in LA and in a place where I can focus on my kids.’
She added: “Everything I decide to do is influenced by (my children), but at the same time I have to make sure I don’t lose myself and always stay grounded in what’s important to me.”
