Aston Villa are targeting certain players ahead of the January transfer window, one of which is 21-year-old ace Filip Marschall.
Unai Emery has been a revelation since joining the club and the The Aston Villa manager could allow a striker to movedespite the club seeming to recognize his talent.
It is a mark of respect from the club that they are willing to take on board Emery’s advice and requests and the Spaniard has already shown just what can be achieved with the support of the board.

Filip Marschall is in line for a new contract with Aston Villa
Highly-rated young goalkeeper Filip Marschall, currently on loan at Crewe Alexandra, is in line for a new contract with Aston Villa according to Football Insider.
The publication notes that although Marshall is not out of contract until 2027, it was 2022 when he signed his latest extension at the club.
Clearly, Emery wants to protect Villa’s investment given the goalkeeper has been at the club since 2018 (transfer market), and offering the carrot of a new deal should be enough to tempt the player to keep his record at Villa Park, even if it is still some time before he can really make his mark there.

Aston Villa look to the future
With so many matches played by the most successful teams these days, clubs need at least two players in each position to be available.
For the specialist field of goalkeeping, it is arguable that at least three should be available at all times.
Villa are clearly looking to the future with their deal offer for Marschall, and if they continue on their current course there is every chance we could see the custodian playing in the Premier League in due time.
