“I took a lot,” Harvey Guillenwho played Guillermo, told exclusively Us Weekly before the series finale on Monday, December 16. “I took a lot of (Guillermo’s) sweaters. … I’m a big collector of things and I collected some of the lamps that were in Nandor’s room, which are now in my guest house, which goes with the mood. It was the perfect match for me.
Mark Prokschwho played energy vampire Colin Robinson, said that he occasionally stores things that he thinks fans might want down the line or that can be donated to charity. But he also kept a few things for himself, including the locket – complete with a photo of Vanessa BayerEvie’s character who appears in the finale. (Colin briefly dates Evie, another energy vampire, in Season 1.)
“I ended up giving Vanessa that locket,” Proksch, 46, said usjoking that most of the vampire decor didn’t really match his home’s aesthetic. “Stuffed beavers and pictures of vampires don’t really go with what’s going on.”

While fans are devastated by it WWDITS is over for good, the cast is happy with how the finale wrapped things up. (The documentary crew stopped filming the vampire squad, but Nandor and Guillermo agreed to continue working together as crime fighters.)
“I think it’s a great way to wrap up all these character stories. And something fun for the audience to watch,” said Guillen, 34. “It was a perfect ending to a perfect series.”
Proksch agreed, noting that he thought this was the perfect time to end the show. “The danger you can run into is keeping the show longer than its life, keeping it on life support,” he explained. “It’s a show where we all have fun working together. The scenarios are really funny. You can get complacent and overstay your welcome just because you’re enjoying all these other things, so I think the end of it after 6 seasons is the perfect place to end it while it’s still making people laugh.”
Some fans are still hoping that the gang will return in a movie, à la Entourage or Sex and the citybut the cast is split on whether that should happen (and Proksch pointed out that it already has What we do in the shadows movie in 2014, which inspired the show).

Russ Martin/FXNovak, 46, said the chance of another film happening is “minimum to none,” but Schaal, also 46, is positive. “There will definitely be a movie. Heard it here first!” she said us.
Guillén, for his part, would also be involved in a film – but not right away. “We can definitely revisit these characters in a few years and see what they do,” he said. “I agree with that.”
One thing Nandor and Guillermo won’t do, however, is having a romantic relationship. The finale finally dashed the dreams of those fans who were hoping the two would share a kiss before the end of the series. Once again, the cast is split on these two’s feelings for each other, with Schaal saying he wants to see the duo have fun and Gillen expressing support for the more platonic way things ended.

Russ Martin/FX“At the end of the day, they ended up together,” he said of the finale, which showed Guillermo and Nandor descending into the depths in Nandor’s newly modified coffin. “We need to normalize a relationship with friends of the same sex that is not sexual, and normalize that you can be friends and have love as a man for another man, and generally love them and want to be in life them and take care of them and I want to wish them the best, not in a romantic sense. And that’s OK.”
Guillen noted that even though the kiss never came, fans somehow got exactly what they wanted: Nandor and Guillermo riding off into the sunset.
“I’m the first to say yes to queer love,” Guillen added. “But I think their love is there. They ended up together. You got what you wanted! They ended up in a coffin together, literally in a coffin together, descending to a secret lair. It’s like they ended up being partners. If you really love someone, isn’t that what you want? Just having them in your life every day and that’s it. They ended up together and I’m happy with the way things ended.”
All six seasons of What we do in the shadows are available to stream on Hulu.
