Jamie Foxx says he's 'too blessed to be stressed' after getting stitches after birthday brawl

Jamie Foxx spoke after an incident that happened during his birthday.

The 57-year-old actor shared a statement via Instagram on Sunday, December 15, after an altercation at a Beverly Hills restaurant the night before.

Foxx posted a photo on her Instagram that contained white text on a black background that read: “The devil is busy…but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” He pinned the post to the top of his profile.

“The devil is a lie,” Fox wrote in the caption. “I can’t win here…thanks to everyone who prays and checks on me…when your light shines bright…they try to bring you darkness…but they don’t know you were made for it…the lights were shining bright… “

He continued: “And a huge thank you to everyone who watched and was inspired by ‘What Happened Was’ … number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out, it’s from my heart and soul… .”

Fox was out and about to celebrate his 57th birthday on Saturday, December 14. “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone at another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” Fox’s spokesperson said Us Weekly in a statement at that time. “He had to be stitched up and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement.

TMZ reported that Foxx was in Mr. Chow, a restaurant in Beverly Hills when the incident occurred. He was joined by his two daughters, Corinne and Analise, and his ex, Christine Granis.

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, a call was made about an alleged fight at the restaurant around 10 p.m.
“Upon investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded,” BHPD said in a press release. “Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between the parties.”

The statement continued: “BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made.”

The incident is the latest in Foxx’s recent health issues, which he addressed in his latest Netdli special What Had Happened Was.

In April 2023 Fox was hospitalized for what daughter Corinne described as a “medical complication.” In his special edition, Fox revealed that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage, a stroke and was unable to walk. It also claims to have 20 days of missing memory.
