“When I met Cody, he was very involved in our church and as far as I could tell, he was happy in our church,” Robyn, 46, said during the Sunday, Dec. 15, episode of Sister wivesreflecting where the couple stands in their church congregation. “I mean, I probably wouldn’t have considered marrying him if I didn’t think it was.”
Robin, who is Cody’s fourth wife, explained this when their family went public with their polygamous lifestyle it changed things for her husband, 55.
“I think really the way our church has responded to it really, kind of, throw it awayand that made him just feel like, ‘Wait, what the hell?'” she recalled.
Cody agreed, telling the cameras, “I found that my faith started to conflict with religious attitudes, kind of like watchdogs.” He added that once the church started telling him to cut his hair or behave a certain way, it was a turn-off.
After he separated from his wives Christine, Janelleand Mary Brown in 2021, 2022, and 2023, respectively, Cody’s distance from the church only grew. However, Robyn told her husband in Sunday’s episode that she wants to go back.
“I want to come sooner or later,” Cody told Robin, who said she did too their grand daughters want to try new places of worship.
Cody then teased me, “Well, you don’t want to be without me too long because I don’t want any guy to think you’re single mother.”
The patriarch explained to viewers that “there are a lot of men who are interested in Robin” who were “kind of trying to get around me and her.” The situation, he admitted, worried him.
“Because the first time I saw you at our church, we made this look, this connection,” Cody recalls to Robin, who was annoyed that she was the one who gave the look.
