Newly elected President Trump made use of the mysterious drone controversy in New Jersey to mock former ally Chris Christie.
The president-elect, who will take office in just over a month, he shared an AI-generated meme of the former governor of New Jersey eating McDonald’s, while more McDonald’s meals were delivered by drones, mocking his weight on Truth Social and X.
Christie endorsed Trump in 2016 but was later fired as head of his transition team.
Last year, Christie ran a short-lived presidential campaign ahead of the 2024 election, calling Trump a “coward” and a “Putin’s puppet,” but he quit in January.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and law enforcement officials have said the drones do not appear to pose a threat to public safety.
On Friday, Trump called for the drones to be shot down if there is no reasonable explanation.

“Mysterious drone sightings across the country. Can this really happen without the knowledge of our government,” he wrote on Truth Social. “I don’t think so! Let the public know, now. Otherwise, shoot them!!!”
