The Gunners were predictably dominant but could not make promising openings as the Toffees stayed five points clear of the bottom three with a game in hand on Ipswich and Wolves.

Liverpool – Fulham: Jota’s goal is decisive

Liverpool bounced back to salvage a point in a thriller against Fulham, having sent off Andy Robertson six minutes after Andreas Pereira’s 11th-minute opener for the visitors.

Cody Gakpo equalized with a header from Mohamed Salah’s cross two minutes after the break, but Rodrigo Muniz put the Cottagers back in front 14 minutes from time. On his return from an 11-game injury absence, substitute Jota turned smartly and rolled in a calm finish.

Chelsea will look to close the gap at the top to two points when they host Brentford on Sunday (7pm).

Newcastle v Leicester: Murphy’s goals threaten the Foxes

Jacob Murphy struck in the 30th and 60th minutes as Newcastle won for the first time in five matches to hand Leicester a crushing first defeat in three.

Bruno Guimares’ header doubled the Magpies’ lead two minutes after half-time and Alexander Isak nodded in a fourth two minutes later.

Wolves v Ipswich: Taylor’s goal excites Tractor Boys

Wolves remain four points adrift of safety after suffering a fourth straight defeat thanks to substitute Jack Taylor’s 94th-minute header.

Matt Doherty’s own goal in the 15th minute put The Tractor Boys in front, but the visitors had leveled with Matheus Cunha’s superb finish 18 minutes earlier.

Town’s second league win of the season was their first home win in the Premier League since April 2002 – during their last campaign in the top flight.
