Mohamed Salah was named Premier League player of the month

Mohamed Salah was named Premier League Player of the Month for the sixth time today after an impressive November that helped Liverpool maintain their torrid start to the season.

The Egyptian forward scored or assisted five of the Reds’ seven goals as they won all three league games last month to stay top of the table.

Salah scored a superb winner to secure a 2-1 win over Brighton, had a hand in both goals against Aston Villa and then scored twice as Liverpool won 3-2 at Southampton.

The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, now has a combined Premier League-best 21 goals or assists this season, four more than Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

He is now just one short of the record number of Premier League Player of the Month awards, with Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero having seven to their names.

Salah’s contributions helped Arne Slot claim his first Manager of the Month award since arriving in England.

The Dutchman has done an impressive job at Anfield since succeeding Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool went into the weekend four points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand in the chase.
