Trump responds to Biden pardoning Hunter


President-elect Trump responded to President Biden’s surprising decision forgive his son Hunter on Sunday.

Biden’s attempt to pardon – a decision he made previously claimed he wouldn’t make it – it drew attention across the country. In a Truth Social post on Sunday evening, Trump suggested that Biden should have pardoned the January 6 protesters.

“Does Joe’s pardon for Hunter include the J-6 hostages, who have been held captive for years now?” Trump wrote. “What an abuse and miscarriage of justice!”

Trump’s transition team also responded to the pardon for Hunter Biden.

“The failed witch hunts against President Trump have proven that the Democratic-controlled DOJ and other radical prosecutors are guilty of weaponizing the justice system,” Steven Cheung, the new White House communications chief, said in a statement to Fox News.

“That justice system must be restored and due process must be restored for all Americans, and that is exactly what President Trump will do when he returns to the White House with an overwhelming mandate from the American people.”

Earlier on Sunday, Biden accused Republicans of unfair treatment and claimed Hunter was “treated differently” by prosecutors. Hunter Biden was convicted of three firearms offenses at a trial in Delaware earlier this year, then pleaded guilty to multiple tax crimes in September.

“From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Department of Justice’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I watched my son be selectively and unjustly prosecuted,” the statement said. the president.

“Without aggravating factors such as use in a crime, multiple purchases or buying a gun as a straw buyer, people are almost never charged with a misdemeanor charge solely because of the way they filled out a gun form,” he continued. “Those who paid their taxes late due to serious addictions, but then paid them back with interest and penalties, typically receive non-criminal resolutions.”

Biden also recalled Hunter’s battle with substance abuse and asked Americans “to understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”

“Efforts have been made to break Hunter, who has been sober for five and a half years, even in the face of persistent attacks and selective prosecution,” the president continued. “In their attempt to break Hunter, they’ve also tried to break me – and there’s no reason to think it will stop here. Enough is enough.’

Biden had previously denied any intention to pardon his son after Hunter was convicted earlier this year.

“I’m not going to do anything,” Biden said after the sentencing. ‘I’ll stick to it the jury’s decision.”

Trump previously told Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin that if elected he would “do nothing that would be overt” regarding Hunter Biden’s affairs, calling the first son’s legal troubles “a sad situation” mentioned.
