In an interview with usJohnson and East talked about their holiday gift picks for the season, what it’s like to partner with Amazon, and how the retailer Same day delivery service it helps with last minute gifts and makes life easier as parents of three.
“There are so many logistical issues with having children,” East said. “It’s nice that Amazon takes care of a lot of the logistics so parents don’t have to.” But I think we really depend on same-day delivery for everyday essentials or last-minute gifts.”
In an advertising campaign Amazon Same Day Shipping service, of A few things podcast the hosts saw what it was like to be Amazon Flex Drivers drivers for a day. The two competed against each other to fulfill same-day delivery orders in their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
“It was fun,” Johnson said. “It was humbling. We have a newfound respect. But (it was) also great to be able to go into the facility, see the new center and see how all the flex drivers and same-day delivery work. We got to see everything from how they pack all the stuff to how they load it into the carts to how they load it into the cars. Then being able to provide that to the kids and then the gym was really special.”
As the parents of three young ones, Johnson said she finds herself using the Same-Day service “a lot more around the holidays,” when “life gets busier and more chaotic.” However, the couple has also used it for last-minute emergencies, such as when they were hosting Friendsgiving and forgot to buy a big meal for their Sweet Potato Casserole.
“I was doing so many things,” Johnson said. “And being able to do same-day delivery for a casserole, which seems like a very specific item to run out and pick up, was amazing.”
