Liverpool are reportedly still interested in a potential transfer move for Swedish wonderkid Momodou Sonko.
The 19-year-old is currently on the books of Belgian side Gent but has previously had trials with Liverpool’s academy.
The Reds have said they remain keen to monitor Sonko’s progress closely following their long-standing interest in him, according to a report from Anfield clock.
Sonko is a quick and skilful attacking player who can play out wide or up front and could be a smart thing for LFC to win the race for his signature before his value soars.
Stunning swap deal for Liverpool midfield!
Sonko has started well since his move to Gent and it will be interesting to see if he can continue his progression well in Belgian football after previously making a breakthrough with Swedish side BK Hacken.
If Sonko can maintain this level of performance in the Belgian league, it could be a sign that he finally has what it takes to make the step up to English football.

Liverpool have other exciting transfer plans
Liverpool also have some bigger names on their radar at the moment, with that of Brighton Joao Pedro has been linked as a transfer target for the Merseyside giants from UOL.
LFC are also understood to be among the names interested in the transfer of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirzalthough they could also face competition from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.
It’s been a fairly quiet summer for Liverpool, with only Federico Chiesa making the move to Anfield, so it will be interesting to see if the club are now ready to invest a bit more in Arne Slot’s squad.
Sonko looks set to be one to watch for the future, but most fans will probably hope more established names take priority for now.
