The couple shared a series of sweet images decorating a Christmas tree, including a close-up of an ornament that paid tribute to where they met. The round wooden ornament read “The Golden Bachelor” and featured a dress and tuxedo. “Engaged 2024,” was written below.

Joan and Chock, both 61, also displayed a display of more than a dozen socks with the names of their respective children and her grandchildren emblazoned on the front. (Joan shared his four children with the late husband Johnwhile Chok is the father of two children he shares with his ex-wife Heather.)

“This first year, obviously, we have to figure out life. Chuck has a business in Kansas. I have children and grandchildren and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he has duties in Kansas,” Joan said us. “We know we’re going to spend some time in Maryland and Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because we’ve both always dreamed of — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life to make that dream come true — that we live in a big city, and specifically we’ve always wanted to live in New York. Chok surprised me and said, “I want to go find a place.”

Because the couple plans to spend some time in the Big Apple, Joanne said us that she “never in a million years” thought she would feel “love like that again.”

“Living life in your golden years is special. You are no longer responsible for raising a family or running a business. You can really enjoy life. Travel is important to us. Let’s buy a home together one day,” she shared in the post us cover story. “After John died, I felt like my future was this black hole. And now it just looks so bright. The possibilities are endless for us. Which is a weird thing to say at this age, but that’s how I feel.
